Christmas Sweater Night at Friday Home Games
Join us this Friday for JV and Varsity Basketball home games against South Charlotte Thunder and Davidson Day School! The JV Boys play at 4:00, the Varsity Women play at 5:30, and the Varsity Men play at 7:00. The theme for the night is Christmas Sweater Night, so students can dress in their favorite Christmas sweaters or Christmas-themed attire to be admitted for just $1!

Winter team pictures will be taken November 27th, December 14th, and January 7th for basketball, cheerleading, and swimming. Please see the schedule below for each team's date and time. All athletes will take both an individual and team pictures regardless of whether or not they are ordering pictures. Pajama Night at Home Basketball Games Friday
Be here this Friday for our first home basketball games of the season as our teams face the GCAA Stallions! MS will play in Gym C with the girls at 4:00 and boys at 5:15. JV Boys, Varsity Women, and Varsity Men will play in Gyms A/B at 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00.
Students who participate in Pajama Night will be admitted for just $1! General admission is $3 for MS and JV, $5 for Varsity, and free for kids 10 & under.

Fall Capital Fundraiser

Elementary and Middle School students will be participating in a Read-a-Thon! Students are challenged to read thirty 10 minute “blocks” from November 1-15th with a maximum of 300 minutes (30 blocks). Students will solicit pledges based upon how many 10 minutes “blocks” they read during the Read-a-Thon. Individual prizes will be awarded to students who raise the most funds.

• Register under your homeroom teacher’s name (3rd period teacher for Middle School) from the drop down menu
• Participate in the Read-a-Thon

High School students in grades 9-12 will choose the school club or athletic team that they want to represent, and individually solicit donations for the school. The team winner is determined based upon a minimum of 10 team members and the highest dollars per student for the team. The top three clubs/teams will be awarded cash prizes which will go towards the club/teams needs. Individual prizes will be awarded to students who raise the most funds.

Varsity Fall Sports Banquet

The Varsity Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Monday, October 29th at 6:30pm in Gyms A/B. All Varsity athletes and their immediate families are invited to attend. Dinner will be served, followed by the presentation of team awards. All student-athletes are required to be in chapel/honor dress code. If you have any photos from the fall season that you would like to submit for the banquet slideshow, please send them to carrieleighgarner@hgchristian.org.

Off-Season Workouts

Workouts for all high school off-season athletes are being held Monday through Thursday from 2:45 to 4:30 at the field house. Both male and female athletes from any sport are welcome and encouraged to attend workouts.

Volunteers Needed for Winter Season

The HGCS Athletic Department and AAA Booster Club need the help of volunteers to assist with admissions and concessions at athletic events throughout the winter season. Please sign up for a volunteer time slot on our Sign Up Genius page.
