The fall sports season officially starts next week with tryouts and practice for many teams beginning on Monday. Here are a few quick reminders before the season starts, followed by more in-depth information and details below:
ALL student-athletes must complete the online registration for fall sports through FamilyID before tryouts begin.
ALL student-athletes must turn in a current physical form by uploading it to FamilyID or bringing it to the Athletic Office before tryouts begin.
ALL student-athletes and parents should watch the athletic information video before tryouts.

This year, in lieu of seasonal athletic information meetings, the Athletic Department has created a video to provide parents and students with pertinent information about athletics at HGCS in an easy and convenient way. We ask that all student-athletes and their parents please watch the video at the link below before the season begins. We have partnered with FamilyID, a secure online platform for submitting all necessary information for sports participation. Families will be able to create an account, register middle school and high school students for sports each season, and digitally sign athletic forms. Sports physicals, which must be updated and signed by a doctor every 395 days, may be uploaded directly to your FamilyID account.Each family will only need to create one FamilyID account. Multiple children can be registered for multiples sports seasons under one family account. Hickory Grove's FamilyID site is open and accepting registration for fall sports. Each student-athlete's online registration must be complete and sports physical must be uploaded (or submitted in person to the Athletic Office) before tryouts begin. You can begin your athletic registration now by following the instructions below:
REGISTRATION PROCESS: A parent/guardian should register by clicking on this link: https://www.familyid.com/hickory-grove-christian-school
Follow these steps:
- To find your program, click on the link provided above and select the registration form "Hickory Grove Christian School Athletic Registration Fall 2019" under the word Programs.
- Next click on the green Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In green buttons. If this is your first time using FamilyID, click Create Account. Click Log In, if you already have a FamilyID account.
- Create your secure FamilyID account by entering the account owner First and Last names (parent/guardian), E-mail address and password. Select I Agree to the FamilyID Terms of Service. Click Create Account.
- You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your E-mail filters (spam, junk, etc.).
- Click on the link in your activation E-mail, which will log you in to FamilyID.com
- Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
- Click the Continue button when your form is complete.
- Review your registration summary.
The link to access Hickory Grove's FamilyID site is also available under "Athletics" on the school website. The NCISAA sports physical form is available as a PDF link on the FamilyID site and on the school website on the Athletics page. The sports physical form will need to be printed and signed by a doctor before it is uploaded to your FamilyID account or submitted in person to the Athletic Office.If you have any questions about how to access and complete your registration, please contact the Athletic Office at (704) 531-4038. ATHLETIC FEES
This year, due to the change in tuition and the incorporation of most school-related fees, there will be no athletic participation fees for any sports at HGCS. However, for any teams that travel overnight for regular season games, athletes will be required to submit payment to the Athletic Department to cover the cost of team hotel rooms. Additionally, team gear from the BSN Team Shops is not included in tuition or any payments to HGCS and will be an extra cost to student-athletes.
