Christmas Sweater Night - Friday, December 15th
This Friday, December 15th is Christmas Sweater Night at the home basketball games against Charlotte Christian School! Students who wear Christmas sweaters will be admitted to the games for the discounted rate of $1! Regular admission is $3 for JV and $5 for Varsity (free for kids 10 & under). JV Boys play at 4:00pm, Varsity Women at 5:30pm, and Varsity Men at 7:00pm. We will also have a Halftime Shoot-Out during the Varsity Women's and Varsity Men's games! Students can enter their names to be drawn for the shooting contest at the admissions table during the first half of each game. The shooting contest winners will receive vouchers for the concession stand!
Baseball Online Team Shop Open
The BSN online team shop for HGCS baseball is now open. The team shop includes apparel and gear for baseball players for the 2018 season.
Off-Season Workouts for All Male Athletes
The HGCS Athletic Department is offering off-season conditioning workouts with Coach Pondo for ALL male athletes grades 6th-12th not involved in a sport in the current season.
Coach Pondo has been doing these workouts for the last ten years and is BFS certified. Workouts will start Wednesday, January 3, 2018 and will be held Monday through Thursday each week in the field house after school until 5:00pm. The program Coach Pondo follows is the nationally recognized "Bigger, Faster, Strong (BFS)" program, which is used by most high schools and small colleges/universities in the country. It is a great program for ALL athletes in all sports. Athletes must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Trainer in order to participate.
The off-season is the time for you to improve as an individual. It is our hope that all will take advantage of this program. This program is free of charge, convenient, and it works!
